Covid-19 CJ news!

March 27, 2020 184 Comments off montague Criminal Justice, World News

March 27, 2020

Dear La Sierra University Community,

(SUMMARY) Criminal Justice campus temporarily closed, all meetings canceled, no employees allowed on campus, disinfecting Criminal Justice campus, no reported CJ students or staff infected.

Out of an abundance of caution, La Sierra University Criminal Justice Program has taken action to temporarily close our campuses. Schools and offices will be closed as of Monday, March 16, 2020 until further notice.

During this time, we will monitor circumstances around coronavirus (COVID-19) and determine when it’s safe to resume classes and office hours. We will also be disinfecting the campus during this closure. Although there are zero presumptive or confirmed cases amongst our students and staff of coronavirus (COVID-19) related to our Criminal Justice Program, our health officials still consider the risk of community transmission relative to coronavirus (COVID-19) to be low, this step is being taken out of an abundance of caution. This is not a decision we take lightly, as we know that temporarily closing will not impact your eligibility or interfere with your application process.

POTENTIAL FRESHMEN STUDENTS
Once again this will not effect your enrollment process. But we are leaning on the side of caution when it comes to our Criminal Justice Family. So ALL face-to-face meetings are Canceled until further notice. We can use facetime or other video conferencing solutions to present your Freshman Tuition Estimate and answer any questions you may have. Please feel free to contact me via email, text, or phone to schedule a video conference.

Meanwhile, local health officials continue to emphasize common-sense steps to prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses, including the following:

The Criminal Justice Program will continue to share new developments through its regular communications channels including emails, text messages, and/or phone calls, as well as social media.

So please keep checking your emails, text, and voice messages.

Thank you for your efforts to keep our community safe.

Respectfully,

Fred Eslao
